I have enjoyed listening to the cd of Eckhart Tolle’s book “A New Earth - Awakening your life’s purpose”. I read the book last year and now I am listening to the cd. I have enjoyed the challenge of thinking, with renewed eyes, of the way I look at this life. It has also given me time to understand that we, as human beings, have to listen to our bodies as well as our minds. Learning about the ego and how it works is very interesting. The mind is an amazing tool and there is so much about it that we do not know. Most people built their identity through ego - which is an attachment to things, belongings, land, money, social status etc as a way of building their self worth. If we become aware that the ego is there and allow ourselves to just come from a place of being “in the present moment” we can find the happiness that is truly our essence of being. There is only one moment and that is NOW the present. http://www.eckharttolle.com/eckharttolle.
Last night we had an interesting discussion on Australian culture and, more to the point, my friends view on Christmas celebrations in this country – Australia. The passion that was given to their view is that other ethnic cultures were not accepting of this country and its Christian values. They believe it to be a privilege to live here and if you choose to stay you should speak English and fit into this way of life as we have for the last 200 years. Many believe that the fabric of this country, as we know it, is being eroded and we are allowing this to happen. This is a sentiment held by many Australians. There are many people holding different values and they also have a collective story running. An example would be the conflict between Israelis and the Palestinian people, who are fighting over the ownership of Gaza. Both sides believe themselves to be the owners of this land and both take insane measures to control it. If you just step back from the story for a few minutes and ask yourself why, what is the true feeling you have FEAR, CONTROL. If you understand the law of attraction then what you think about you bring about and the more passion that is in that vibration the stronger it will be. I am not saying it is wrong to have an opinion or be passionate about things – in fact it is very important to have passion. I believe it should be for the positive outcomes in our thinking and not the fear or negativity in us. As we live more and more in a global village with the internet, phone, air travel the world is getting smaller – metaphorically. FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
In memory to Darcey Freeman
The other story I found very difficult to come to terms or understand is 4 year old Darcey Iris Freeman who was thrown from Melbourne’s West Gate bridge yesterday and the person who delivered the child to the water was her father. For whatever his reasons, we will never understand why someone who gives life to another human-being comes to the decision that it is in that person’s best interest to take life from them. My heart goes out to those left behind to come to terms, acceptance and hopefully forgiveness, not for the act, but the peace it ultimately brings to their lives. This will take amazing strength, soul searching and love. I wish them peace, love and compassion for their days ahead.
“You’relikemefrank” update: - As you may be aware from previous articles we have a racehorse in the UK. The 3-year-old chestnut colt has now had six runs and the past two races he has gone to the Winners Circle, in 3rd place. David & I are very excited at his continuing improvement. The buzz of seeing him reminds us of the love we have for his name sake “Francis Clarkson” – his spirit lives on. “Frank” will be running again soon, at Wolverhampton on either February 6th or 20th.
I wish you a great day, until next time……….I hope you are findingurwings…… Roz
