Hello, Goodbye and Thank you.
This morning, we received news from England that two apprentice jockeys had died. They had been killed in an arson attack, at a block of flats night in Norton, near Malton, North Yorkshire. The racing world is morning the loss of Jamie Kyne, a rising young star. Jamie was born in Co Galway, Ireland. He rode his first winner in 2007 and had ridden 29 victories in 2009. He had been dubbed - "the apprentice find of the season".
I never personally met this young man, but I have watched him on the internet, as he has ridden our horse "You'relikemefrank" twice. You may recall I have previously written articles about this horse. He was dedicated to David's father - FRANK. It was on 17th August we were woken to go and watch his lastest race from Wolverhampton, where Jamie rode so well. Amazingly, his skill brought Frank to the winners circle obtaining 2nd place. We were thrilled. Brittany was there at Wolverhampton on that day and she would have met a young man, only her age, with so much more to do/achieve/create/fulfil, unfortunately this is not to be.
If anything, it is timely reminder: -
Do what it is need to do, say what you need to say. Acknowledge the people who are important to you and leave with no regrets. Live this day as is if it is your last, because, you never know, it could be.
To Jamie's family, friends and people that he has touched in this very short life. I send my love and support to you on what is a very difficult journey you have ahead. Think of him often and with loving memories. Treasure and celebrate the life he had here with you, ALWAYS.

Since this article Frank has run 2 races coming 6th and then 3rd. He runs at Kempton Park/UK on the 7th October. "Good luck Frank....This is the big one".
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Frank didn't get a good draw, so brother Paul has decided not to run Frank on the 7th October. Will keep you posted when he next runs.
